Do you find that your marketing isn’t working as well as it has in the past?
Two of the biggest frustrations in marketing your business is understanding why ‘everyone’ is not your market and how to identify your IDEAL client so that you only work with clients you LOVE.

Let’s face it – there are several things that universally constitute an ideal client:

  • Those you really enjoy working with
  • Those who need your help, badly
  • Those who recognise that working with you is essential
  • Those who can easily be identified and contacted
  • Those that will happily pay what you’re worth, without negotiating
  • Those who will get great results from working with you and write testimonials to prove it
  • Those who will tell others about you and refer other clients over and over again

When you target the mass population as your client base, you have a hard time differentiating yourself from others in your field.  One of the secrets of attracting clients is knowing who your ideal clients are, figuring out what their particular issues are, why they’re having them and how you solve them.

Join Deborah and she will share with you the who, what, why and how to decipher who your ideal clients are.

“Skool Project – Empowering our Youth Leaders”

Presented by Michael Jeh

Skool Project is a unique program that attempts to use the most talented young people, in sport and performing arts, to try to drive generational change amongst their own peers, with some amazing and inspiring results across issues that affect the entire community – drugs, alcohol, youth violence, depression and other ‘lifeskills’ that our next generation of leaders need in order to shape Australia’s long-term future.
It’s all about empowering young people to make positive lifestyle choices and use their power as role-models to influence and drive behavioural change amongst their friends, using the power of sport/performing arts to motivate a whole generation of young Australians.

This session shows how the project:

  • Promises to be a fascinating insight into the minds of tomorrow’s leaders and why there is so much cause for optimism for the future.
  • Cuts through political correctness, targeting the issues that concern our community with the sort of refreshing honesty that is so often lacking in government policy.
  • Is about life in the “real world” and dealing with the pressures, stresses and challenges that our youth face each day as they make their way through the most difficult period of their lives.

Michael Jeh has spent many years running ‘lifeskills’ programs for elite athletes around Australia and has gained a perspective on the way young people think and feel about issues that affect the whole community.  He is the Manager of the Griffith University Sports College and works closely with professional sporting teams around the world.  He is a former Oxford Blue who played professional cricket for 12 years.  Michael is heavily involved in the media, writing for international agencies and a regular panellist on ABC Radio on Monday nights.  He spends a lot of time working with young people from as young as 12 years old, focussing on everything from leadership to youth violence to substance abuse.

9 July seminar: Effective Communication and How to Cement Relationships

“Effective Communication and How to Cement Relationships”

Presented by John Mulvey

The ability to communicate effectively is almost becoming a lost art in this age of electronic gadgets and social media exposure. Recognising the power of words and the effect our choice can have on our listener/s could make the difference between building a relationship and whistling in the wind.

Public transport is a living example of a mode of travel where people would at one time, not only commute, but converse with one another. Nowadays, eye contact is avoided; laptops are often a fixation and iPods or mobile phones are attached to many heads: we’re living in isolation!

What you’ll take away:

  • Influential words and phrases
  • The difference between telling and sharing information
  • How to stay on track every time so that both speaker and listener(s) are at the same stage of the verbal interaction
  • Meeting and greeting – the process involved and how to ‘chit chat’ or ‘cut to the chase’
  • How to get a message across so that it is understood by the most important person- the listener/s

None of us makes it alone, so rediscover the simple art of communication and make it an integral part of your life. Get focus off yourself and be reminded of how to connect to others.

John Mulvey’s background is in sales, marketing and management with over 30 years experience.  He earned life membership of the prestigious Million Dollar Round Table in the Insurance Industry. He’s passionate about sharing information, whether it be lecturing at university or working one-on-one. Before coming to Australia in the eighties, he founded the Positive Mental Attitude Club in the UK which is still going strong, and he is a former President of the National Speakers Association, Qld Chapter.

Presented by Julie Spain

When something goes wrong, do you tend to bounce back or fall apart?

Remember that old Lionel Ritchie song “When the going gets tough, the tough get going”?

Believe it or not, the level of your success for 2010 will be determined by this exact principle. It’s easy to succeed when times are going smoothly but when things get more difficult it will be your level of resilience that determines two things:

  1. How successful you will be at achieving your chosen goal
  2. Whether or not you will not just survive a difficult time, but thrive when others are falling by the wayside

During this presentation you will learn how:

  • To cultivate a hopeful outlook.  Visualize what you want rather than worry about what you fear.
  • Be committed to every area of your personal self care and understand that without life balance you will never work and achieve at your personal optimum.
  • Learn to accept what you cannot change and focus on what you can.
  • Personally assess your own level of resilience.
  • Avoid seeing crisis as insurmountable problems.  You can make a decision to leave the past and move positively into the future.
  • Why resilience is the secret weapon to fight burnout.

Learn to function at your optimum each and every day (without sacrificing your personal life).

After 10 years building a resilience program for the Qld Fire and Rescue Service, Julie has taken all this information and brought it into the business world.  Julie believes passionately that everyone can learn the simple yet highly effective skills of resilience building to not only turn your business around but also your life around.
